About
Louisiana native with a big love for Texas Music. Colton was raised in the small town of Leigh, Texas; one of those 'if you blink you miss it' towns, just minutes away from Shreveport, his home town. He cultivated his unique blend of country, southern rock, and blues raised in a family with a passion for playing music. From his Grandfather’s downhome country bands, to his fathers tours with Percy Sledge, Colton grew up with a variety of musical influences.
Getting his start in college life at SFA, Colton immersed himself in the local music greats, such as Jerry Jeff Walker and Robert Earl Keen. He started playing with friends in dorm rooms and lobbies; if someone was there to listen, he was there to play. Shortly after transferring to Louisiana Tech, he branched out from solo events to full band gigs at the local dives. Spending most of his leisure time at places like The Dawg House and Rabb’s, Colton was introduced to pioneers of the Red Dirt Music scene, like Pat Green and Cross Canadian Ragweed. They would greatly influence Colton’s style and eventually he would go on to open for acts like Adam Hood, The Damn Quails, Mike McClure, Cory Morrow and Brandon Rhyder.
Colton’s debut album, “Imperfect Man”, released April 2023, is definitely a tribute to his dad’s band, The Back Porch Boogie Band. More than just band members, these singer/songwriters are family. Along with his own original music, Colton added a few of his favorite songs from BPBB for his album and with the help of Red Dirt music icon Mike McClure, Chris Romain at Split Window Studios, and Grammy nominated Wes Sharron for final touches, Colton couldn’t be happier with his first album.
Already in the studio working on new music for his next project, be sure to follow Colton on social media for updates, events and special messages.
